KUDOS Program

Q: How have your improved FIRSTbenefit.jp?

A: We have completely redesigned FIRSTbenefit.jp with the goal of making it easier for you to use. You can now search by category (i.e. Health & Beauty) and then narrow your results by area (i.e. Azabu Juban) or by type of business (i.e. Esthetic Salon). There is also a Google search box if you prefer to do a keyword search. Each benefit partner has a dedicated page with photos, maps and access information. Enjoy the new site!

KUDOS Membership

Q: How do I become a member?

A: To join the KUDOS Member Benefits Program, please fill out the online KUDOS Member Registration Form (link). After submitting the form, you will be provided with payment instructions. Payment can either be completed online by credit card via PayPal or offline via bank transfer.

If you are a member of the CCCJ, ANZCCJ or YC&AC, the KUDOS program is included with your chamber/association membership. To activate your account:

1. Visit the KUDOS Member Registration Form

2. Choose your "Affiliation" (i.e. CCCJ or YC&AC)

3. Enter your affiliated code (i.e. special FIRSTbenefit ID number provided by your organization and NOT YOUR CHAMBER ID)

Q: Do I have to register an online FIRSTbenefit.jp account?

A: No, but we strongly recommend that you register your online FIRSTbenefit.jp account in order to receive your KUDOS Member Number and to be eligible for all benefits in the program. Online registration is easy to do and free for anyone receiving the magazine.

Q: How do I get my KUDOS Member Number?

A: Your KUDOS Member Number is generated by the FIRSTbenefit.jp website. All registered KUDOS Members can access their KUDOS Member Number by:

1. Signing in to FIRSTbenefit.jp

2. Click on the "My Profile" link (location)

3. You will see your KUDOS Member Number (location)

All KUDOS Members who have registered or activated their online accounts will also receive a confirmation email upon account activation that states your KUDOS Member Number.

KUDOS Benefits

Q: How do I redeem the benefits?

A: There are four ways to redeem benefits and each magazine or web listing will state which methods are accepted by the benefit partner. The four methods include:

1. Show the Magazine

The FIRSTbenefit Magazine is compact and convenient to carry with you.

2. Show your Card

Your KUDOS Member's Card can be found in the FIRSTbenefit Magazine. Peel it off, write in your name and KUDOS Member Number and show it to the benefit partner.

3. Show a Web Print Out

You must sign in to FIRSTbenefit.jp, visit the benefit partners dedicated web page and print out the benefit. Your name and KUDOS Member Number will automatically appear on the print out.

4. Other / Special Instructions

Some benefit partners may require you to:

• Quote your Member Number on the phone or by email

• Write KUDOS, a special affiliate code or your Member Number in an online form

Q: How many times can I redeem a benefit?

A: In general, the benefits in the KUDOS program can only be redeemed one time per member unless otherwise stated.

Q: Do I need to book in advance to receive the benefit?

A: In general, all benefits require advance booking and are subject to the following conditions:

• may not be combined with other offers

• expire at the end of the current season

• valid one time per member

Q: Can I redeem benefits without showing proof of membership?

A: Almost all our benefit partners require that you show proof of membership. Benefit partners may accept one or more of the following:

1. KUDOS Members Card

2. FIRSTbenefit Magazine

3. FIRSTbenefit.jp print out (with your name & member number)

4. Your KUDOS Member Number (i.e. quoted on the phone, by email or entered into a form.)

Q: Will more benefits be added to the program this year?

A: Yes, we are constantly looking for companies serving the international community with top quality products and services. If you know of some companies that would be a good fit for the KUDOS program, we would love to hear from you.

Q: How do I redeem a web benefit?

A: Visit the benefit partner's dedicated page on the FIRSTbenefit.jp site (sample)

• Make sure you are signed in

• On the right hand side you will see the benefit box

• At the bottom of the box are instructions on "How to Redeem this Benefit"

Most web benefits may be redeemed by printing out the web benefit and bringing it to the web benefit partner.

Q: How often is the FIRSTbenefit Magazine produced?

A: Four times per year: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter

Q: How can I change my mailing address?

A: If you are an independent member, please sign in and click on the "my profile" link. On the "my profile" page you are able to edit your address.

Q: How do I activate my online account?

A: For affiliated KUDOS Members or for those who have faxed their KUDOS Member Registration Forms, you may activate your accounts by:

1. Visit FIRSTbenefit.jp

2. Click on the "become a member" link. (Located on the top right of the page below the "Sign in" button)

3. Choose your "Affiliation" (i.e. ANZCCJ or YC&AC etc.)

4. Enter your affiliate code (i.e. special FIRSTbenefit ID number provided by your organization and NOT YOUR CHAMBER ID)

5. Fill out the KUDOS Member Registration Form

6. You will receive an email confirming your account registration. No additional payment is required for affiliated members.

Q: How do I sign in to the website?

A: First, make sure that you have activated your online account (see previous Q&A).

To sign in to the FIRSTbenefit.jp website:

1. Visit FIRSTbenefit.jp

2. Click on the "Sign in" Button located on the top right of every page.

3. Enter your registered Username & Password

  • Username = email address
  • Password = password you set when registering

Q: Why should I do if I lost my password?

A: Visit the password recovery page and follow the onscreen and email instructions after receiving your password reset email.

For security reasons we are unable to send passwords via email or recite them over the phone, therefore for lost passwords we recommend users to set a new password

Q: Why should I sign in?

A: If you do not sign in, you will not see the benefits nor be able to redeem them. All visitors to FIRSTbenefit.jp can see the benefit partner information and photos, however unless signed in, the visitor cannot see the benefits. Most benefits must be printed-out in and brought to the benefit partner in order to be redeemed.

Also, certain news items, surveys and articles on the site are only viewable by members (who are signed in).

Q: Can I change my username / password?

A: Yes. After you sign in, visit the my profile page and you may edit your username and password. Please note that your username is always your registered email address.
